Congrats to my brother, class of 2012 for sac state!
My poor fiancee is stuck in jury duty till next week…. well that means i am having steak all weekend!
Baseball Card of the Week:
While going through a box of baseball cards I had bought at a yard sale, I came across the rarest of all relics, the Holy Grail of baseball cards: a thin, mustachioed Matt Stairs while he was a member of the Expos.
Though Stairs lasted only 38 at-bats for the Expos across parts of two seasons, hitting nary a home run for the team, his impact could be felt for the rest of the Expos exisence. It’s a little known fact, but to get up to the nosebleeds, fans had to take the Stairs. Sure, it doesn’t sound any different, but to people who knew, it changed the world.
I’ll give Arizona credit even though I really, really, really don’t want to.
it’s a hard pill to swallow right now but it looks like the NL West has it out for the Giants. Outside of the Padres, everyone has had the Giants number in one way or another.
Also the errors and sloppy defense doesn’t help.
Just shows the West is starting to be tougher now and no longer that push over division.
dead paradise or witcher 2 tonight….. tough game play decision
9th straight Loss to the Diamondbacks….
sorry I got to respect that. D’backs have some serious ass ownage on the Giants right now. Not only do they extend their streak, but they break their 5 game skid in the process…
Giants are in a funk…. It’s about time for them to get funky… funkdafied… funkalicious…

Had to drop a bit of change on my car, found out the baring to my front wheel was wornout to the point where it just came off.
Besides offense and a better defense…. Veteran leadership…
I love the youth movement but they need a leader to help guide them in he club house. It was their problem last year and its becoming their problem once more.
Giants need a guy thattje young guys can looktofor…
I shall answer with this, you can’t ask a pitcher to be the vet leader, why because if you ask him to fire up the everyday line up you come off as a guy looking like you are blaming the offense for something.
As for huff and pagan, no. Huff has too many problems to deal with on his own before he can lead and pagan is also struggling find his groove. Melky maybe, but his personality doesn’t come off as a leader, he is no follower either, but not a leader.
I don’t know if they’re missing leadership right now though, I think they’re just not meshing right now. For the first couple weeks when the Giants were scoring 4 runs a game, was anyone calling out for veteran leadership?
yes it’s true that they aren’t meshing, and when they were doing good in the start they were clicking. But it’s times like these and as the season progresses that you need someone to step up and be a leader. They are in a funk and they will continue to be in a funk every now and then as the season goes on. That where having a vet comes in, he is there to remind people that baseball is a long haul.
Youth movement is great and I am all for it, but the Giants needing help early on is not a bad thing either. I’d rather solve a problem now than to wait till trade deadline in July. Not asking for a wow move, just for someone to step up from the guys they have already. If not then bring in a guy like they did with Burrell in 2010, a guy that was cheap, not looking to disrupt the everyday line up, but still had something left in the tank to prove he belonged in the the Show. Just a guy that has been there and done that.
